Formations of a Noble Woman
A Journey of Becoming a Godly Woman, Through the Hands of the Master Potter
What Does “Formation” Really Mean?
“Formation? What do you mean by that?”
“Does a woman really need to be formed?”
“Why Formations of a Noble Woman?”
These are questions that might be going through your mind. While no one has asked me directly, I imagine they might be wondering the same. And it’s a fair question.
Let me begin to answer it by sharing a personal story.
Becoming a Godly Woman: A Story From the Start
Years ago, in a growing African city, a baby girl was born—one of a set of twins. Her entrance into the world marked the beginning of a journey through both beauty and brokenness.
From playground fights and hunger pangs in boarding school to teenage rebellion and dreamy escapes into novels and soap operas, life was unfolding in a world she would come to understand as fallen.
And then, something happened.
The Day Everything Changed
In a simple high school prayer meeting, a Christian teacher shared a short message. That was all it took. The Holy Spirit moved—and that teenage girl surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
That girl was me.
I was 17 when the Lord began restoring me to Himself. Slowly, painfully, purposefully, He started the work of transformation and becoming a godly woman.
The Process of Becoming
Surrendering to Christ was just the beginning. Like a piece of raw wood in a carpenter’s shop, I needed to be cut, shaped, refined. Old habits had to go. New disciplines had to come. It wasn’t always easy, but it was necessary.
Each step—faint at first, then resolute—was toward the Lord Jesus Christ and the lifelong journey of becoming a godly woman.
From Girlhood to Womanhood
Today, I’m a wife, a mother, and still a woman in formation. My name is Clara Muruga, and Formations of a Noble Woman is my story—one that I know mirrors the stories of many others.
It’s a journey of being shaped into a vessel for God’s noble purposes—a journey of becoming a godly woman in every season of life.
An Unexpected Nudge to Share
One day, my husband looked at me and said,
“Why do you keep listening to others? Why not share what God has placed in your heart?”
That question stopped me. Could God use me to speak? Would anyone even listen?
Yet I’ve come to see that my voice—imperfect and unfinished—can still serve. So here I am, sharing what I’ve learned, and what I continue to learn, as the Lord forms me day by day. My hope is to help other women on the path of becoming a godly woman as well.
The Heart Behind This Blog
Formations of a Noble Woman was born from time in the Word, in prayer, and in discipleship. It’s also the fruit of learning from other godly women.
This blog is not about perfection. It’s about process. It’s about walking with God through the ups and downs of life and being shaped into a woman who reflects His glory—becoming a godly woman one day at a time.
Why “Formations”? Why “Noble”?
Let’s reflect on these Scriptures:
“…All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character.” — Ruth 3:11b
“A wife of noble character who can find?” — Proverbs 31:10
In a fallen world, noble character is not automatic. It is formed—shaped over time by the hand of God. And that’s what this blog is about: the real, sometimes slow, sometimes painful, but always beautiful process of becoming a godly woman—the kind who brings glory to God in every role and season.
Becoming a Godly Woman: A Personal Invitation to You
As you read, I invite you to reflect on your own journey. What has shaped you? What still needs God’s touch?
Take a few moments to pause.
Ponder your past.
Consider your present.
Open your heart to the forming hand of God.
The journey of a noble woman is not a sprint—it’s a lifelong formation. It’s the journey of becoming a godly woman—and you don’t have to walk it alone.
With love,
Clara
